As the parent of three children with different needs I found myself overwhelmed by doctor's reports and specialist assessments. Every appointment required me to answer a multitude of detailed questions, and specialists kept asking for "any assessments done to date".
Rather than drown in paper, I have over time developed a system to not only keep myself from losing important documents but to help my addled brain answer doctor's questions.
I must admit that by the time my daughter was diagnosed with autism, I couldn't keep the details of her pregnancy separate in my mind from her two older brothers. I also found it time consuming to have to locate medical numbers and dates for the millions of forms that I am sure I have filled out in the past 8 years.
In the hopes that my battle with paper can help others to suffer at the least, less paper cuts, I would like to share my system with you.
